Compare these two scriptures:

Leviticus 23:39-40

³⁹ ...on the fifteenth day of the seventh month... you shall keep the feast of the LORD for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest. ⁴⁰ And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.

and John 12:12-13

¹² The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, ¹³ took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:
      “Hosanna!
      ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’
      The King of Israel!”

What are the comparisons of these two scriptures?

Several notes: in the first scripture, the seventh month is March/April. The Jewish civil calendar shows this as the 7th month, with the first month starting in September/October (their New Year's Day being Rosh Hashanah). However, the Jewish sacred calendar starts the new year in March/April. The Sabbath is Saturday (actually starting Friday night at dusk). So, the 8 days would be Saturday through Saturday. Also, This feast is the Feast of Tabernacles. In the second scripture, the feast referenced is the Passover.
