Luke 1:46-50
The Song of Mary
46 And Mary said:
“ My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
       48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
      And holy is His name.
50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him
      From generation to generation.

Scripture of the Week: December 9-15, 2009

Romans 10:10-13
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” [Isaiah 28:16] 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek [non-Jews, everyone else in the world], for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” [Joel 2:32]
The word LORD is an Old Testament reverence in the Abrahamic covenant. The New Testament uses the word Lord” which directly refers to Jesus since He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. [Revelation 19:16, Revelation 17:14, 1 Timothy 6:15]

Love and Power vs Fear

Love and Power vs Fear

1 John 4:7-8
...everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God for God is love.

Kenneth Copeland
"God is Love. He has power. He uses His power in behalf of His love."

Keith Moore (in reiteration of Kenneth Copeland's words)
"He uses His love to demonstrate His power."
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in Love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment...

Keith Moore
"If we see or sense any fear, we know it is a deficiency in the revelation of Love."

1 John 4:18
...But he who fears has not been made perfect in Love.

Romans 1:16
...[the gospel] is the power of God (or power of love, God=Love) to salvation for everyone who believes...

Weekly Scripture: November 30-December 6

Haggai 2:9
“...‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the LORD of hosts.”
This is another early sign of the coming of the Messiah Jesus and His Living Temple (of the Holy Spirit).

Weekly Scripture: November 23-29, 2009

Psalm 95:1-3

1 Oh come, let us sing to the LORD!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
 2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
3 For the LORD is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.
Everyone have a blessed thanksgiving!

Weekly Scripture: 11.16-22.09

Colossians 3:14-15
14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
God is love. Where God is, so is peace.

Jesse Duplantis in Levelland, Texas

On Tuesday, November 10, 2009, Jesse Duplantis preached at the South Plains Church in Levelland, Texas. He comes every year about this time of year and is an excellent, anointed preacher of the Word of God! He told us many sayings, proverbs really, that are stoutly rooted from the Word. Here are a few of them.
  • “The Christian spirit is a spirit of adventure.”
  • “It's through our freedom that God corrects our freedom.”
  • “Only a fool despises the wisdom of the past.”
  • “Guard against discontent in every way, shape, or form.”
  • “Temptation and corruption are the twins of sensual indulgence.”
  • “There's a divine delicacy to the ways of God.”
  • “I want to be a reflection of Christ, not a reflection [or shadow] on Christ.”
  • “The world is ready for punishment. The world is not ready for forgiveness.”
(What this means is that the world is expecting to be punished. They are not expecting forgiveness or to be shown love. This is a charge for us believers to show ALL people love so that we can be God's Light to bring people to Him!)

Leviticus 25:18-19
“18 ‘So you shall observe My statutes and keep My judgments, and perform them; and you will dwell in the land in safety. 19 Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill, and dwell there in safety.”
Praise God for His fullness!

Hallelujah Night

This past Sunday, my church had their Hallelujah Night, which is a safe, Christian alternative to the demonic, pagan event called Halloween. Kids and adults both wore appropriate costumes. We had carnival games to win candy and toys and had a cake walk and a box maze. All of the candy had scriptures taped to them. In addition, we had a hotdog dinner to raise money for the Kidz Korral church. After all the games and food, we had a black light puppet show by Chug's Soul Train. This really, really neat show had puppets and live action set to music with periods of talking, all glorifying God and His greatness! We've had Hallelujah Night for several years now, and it really is a great way to still have fun during this season without being trapped into demonic activity! Glory to God always!!

Weekly Scripture, 11.2-8.09

Deuteronomy 24:5
“When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.”
This is how God designed the start of marriage to be, but unfortunately the reality is very different! :-(
